I had the pleasure of seeing the Hoppers in concert recently in Rome, Georgia. Rome was one of the locations last year where the “North America Live” CD was recorded. I usually only see them in multi-artist concerts or at NQC, but this concert had just the Hoppers and a local group that opened for [...]

If you’re like me, you are wondering about the group that Joel Wood left in order to join the Mark Trammell Trio. In my case, I found out that the Daybreak Quartet is based out of south Atlanta and that they had a couple of concerts at churches near Atlanta this past weekend. So, off to Conyers I [...]

This is the first time I had seen Janet Paschal in a full solo concert and I just loved her!! Words like talented, gracious, beautiful, and charming come to my mind but they can’t fully describe her performance. I was mesmerized by how she connected so personally with the audience . She looked so beautiful and healthy, [...]

I was able to see these three artists at a fundraising event for a local children’s home in Hixson (Chattanooga), Tennessee. The event was held at Central Baptist Church, a very large, beautiful facility, which actually made the crowd look small even though there must have been over 200 or 300 people there. First up [...]

I had the distinct privilege of attending a few of the evening concerts at the Steve Hurst School of Music which was held at a new location this year - Lee University in Cleveland, TN. This was my first exposure to the school, but they apparently bring in artists to perform for the students and they also have some student [...]

I really enjoyed seeing and hearing Eric Phillips during his tenure with the Mark Trammell Trio. Thursday, June 9, 2009, was his last appearance with them before re-starting his career in law enforcement. Here is my video tribute to him taken from songs that were performed during the concert. Eric, I hope you will [...]

Derrick Selph’s last concert with Brian Free and Assurance was last night in Winston, GA. Derrick will be pursuing another career path but I sure hope he continues to sing whenever he can. Here are some clips I put together from last night as a tribute to Derrick.

This concert featuring the Shireys, Enlisted, and the Kingsmen was the hottest concert I’ve ever attended! Really, I mean it was HOT! Temperatures in the Atlanta area were between 95 and 100 degrees on the day of the concert and the air conditioning in the venue didn’t get turned on until 2 hours before the concert – [...]

Jeff Stice gives a few solo concerts during the year when he is not busy with Triumphant Quartet’s performances. I was able to attend one of them recently at Jeff’s home church, Valley Grove Baptist Church in Seymour, Tennessee, near Knoxville. Jeff is an extremely gifted pianist and his concerts are a mixture of sacred [...]
