The 2010 Steve Hurst School of Music is now history! The school was a big success and they sponsored another wonderful week of evening concerts. I attended Monday night (Triumphant Quartet), Tuesday night (Piano Fanfare with all the members of the piano faculty), and Friday night (Tribute Quartet). Here are my comments about the [...]

A couple of weeks ago, Tribute Quartet sent out an e-mail announcing that they have a new tenor. Brian Alvey left the group to take a marketing/promotions position and Riley Harrison Clark, a very talented18-year old from the wonderful state of Oklahoma, was announced as Brian’s replacement. Riley joins Gary Casto (lead), Josh Singletary (baritone and pianist) [...]

Mt. Zion Free Will Baptist Church in Pell City, Alabama hosted the Tribute Quartet as part of their Homecoming celebration recently. Tribute sang during their morning worship service and then gave a whole concert after lunch. I was pleased to attend the concert. You may remember that Tribute won the 2008 Singing News Fan Award [...]

I was so disappointed when Tribute Quartet had to cancel their concert in Sharpsburg, GA on January 31 because of the icy roads in the mountains between Tennessee and Georgia. I don’t get to see this group in concert very often and their schedule isn’t looking very promising for me for the near future, so [...]

Elkmont Baptist Church had their Homecoming event on June 14th this year and Tribute Quartet lead the morning worship service. This was not Tribute’s first appearance at the church, so most of the people in the congregation had heard them before. The church service began with some announcements, a welcome, and some congregational singing. Then the choir was [...]

I’ll do a concert review later, but I just wanted to pass this along in the meantime! This was at the end of a concert on Sunday, June 14, during an impromptu piano duet with Josh Singletary (Tribute Quartet) and Elkmont Baptist Church member Mark Hood. Josh was just being Josh but you’ll see who got [...]

I saw the Tribute Quartet on Friday, September 5 at the Line Creek Baptist Church. This church did something different – during intermission, they served dinner! It was very nice getting to fellowship with the other concert-goers as well as the men from the quartet, who are so very friendly! The church pianist, who had played [...]
