This will be a little different kind of review. I see Triumphant Quartet a number of times during the year and don’t write a review every time, but I thought I would just give a few highlights from the past several times I have seen my favorite group. Triumphant has recorded two live DVDs in [...]

The 2010 Steve Hurst School of Music is now history! The school was a big success and they sponsored another wonderful week of evening concerts. I attended Monday night (Triumphant Quartet), Tuesday night (Piano Fanfare with all the members of the piano faculty), and Friday night (Tribute Quartet). Here are my comments about the [...]

I had the pleasure of seeing Triumphant Quartet in concert at the Home Plate Diner in Hueytown, Alabama a couple of weeks ago. This is a yearly event and it always draws a packed house. It’s fairly close to bass Eric Bennett’s hometown so several of his family members, including his mother, were able to [...]

I was able to attend one of the first performances of Greater Vision with returning member Chris Allman. I really enjoyed the group when Jason Waldroup and then Jacob Kitson were a part of the group, but I had never seen Chris. The concert was one of the Mull singings and was held at the [...]

What a terrific concert at the North Metro Tech campus in Acworth, Georgia last weekend! I always love it when Triumphant Quartet comes to town, and Tony Gore (who is also from the Pigeon Forge area) was on the program as well. I had not seen Tony Gore in concert although I had seen him [...]

This is going to be a very different kind of review! This past week I was privileged to attend a Carnegie Hall concert featuring Triumphant Quartet, Babbie Mason, and Vocal Union. This special production of “American Gospel Music” was arranged by Dr. Roy J. Hayes, artistic director of True North Presents based in Brentwood, [...]

I was able to attend a concert last Friday in Jacksonville, Florida featuring the Nelons, Triumphant, and Gold City. I had not seen the Nelons in concert, Triumphant is my favorite quartet, and Gold City has two special new members and one very special returning member, so how could it have been anything but wonderful?!?! [...]

For the last several years, promoter Robert York has been featuring Triumphant and Brian Free & Assurance in a Christmas concert at the Praise Tabernacle in Powder Springs, GA. This year he also invited Voices Won, a trio of brothers from Dalton, Georgia. Rather than waiting until the end, the groups all got together for [...]

I had the joy of attending the “Grand Piano Extravaganza” in Shipshewana, Indiana. This is the second year the program has been performed and this year’s major performers were Jeff Stice, Kim Collingsworth, Channing Eleton, Roy Webb, and Michael Howard. The event featured 5 beautiful Steinway grand pianos, the most prominent of them being an [...]

What do you get with you have the current winners of 11 Singing News Fan Awards on the same stage? A great concert!!! (Well, actually, I suppose it was really only the holders of 10 awards on stage since Jim Brady was on jury duty and Jonathan Martin filled in for him.) The Booth Brothers [...]
